Trail through ferns in Pine Park

Welcome!

The Ombuds is a unique resource available to Dartmouth staff, faculty, graduate and professional students and postdocs (‘visitors’). As an alternative to formal channels, we’re here to support you to make your own best decisions.

Ombuds listen and help identify concerns, navigate issues, illuminate pathways, problem solve, and address conflict.   We help untangle the often-complicated terrain of decision making toward satisfactory resolution for any matter that impacts your Dartmouth experience.

Services compliment other campus resources by offering a space that’s independent from administration and not influenced by typical reporting structures.  This benefits visitors who want to freely talk through their situation with someone who is not partial or biased toward a particular outcome.

The Ombuds Office operates as an off-the-record, non-judgmental place where visitors are treated with dignity and respect.
