Paddock’s student assistant performs circulation and shelving tasks at the music library. The job also involves assisting patrons in using the Library website, moveable stacks, audiovisual and computer equipment and scanner/photocopier. The student assistant answers the telephone, does various library duties as assigned, and is responsible for the library when no staff person is present. Some background experience in music is required. Strong communication and people skills are preferred.
This is a public service position in a small library where the student assistant helps patrons with a variety of materials ranging from books and scores to all types of sound recordings, video recordings, cd-roms, and music software. Our students work as a team, with flexibility in switching hours and subbing for colleagues.
