Hold up a big glass funnel with a hose attached. Hold the hose end a little above the level of the funnel lip. Pour blue water into the funnel showing that the levels are equal. Raise and lower the funnel showing that the levels stay the same.
We also have a setup with several differently shaped vessels connected together at the bottom.
