This device creates a fundamental tone and a number of harmonics. You can visualize the waveform on an oscilloscope, and also listen to it on a speaker. You can add in all the odd sinusoidal harmonics to show how that builds a square wave, or the appropriate ones to create a triangular wave, etc. It allows you to adjust which harmonics, the amplitude of each harmonic, and the phase of each harmonic.
