Summary: Zweig: In 1941 the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig went to Brazil, having gone into exile in 1934 in the wake of Hitler’s rise to power. In a pact still surrounded by mystery, Zweig and his young wife, Lotte, committed suicide in Petrópolis (near Rio de Janeiro) in 1942 shortly after attending Carnival. Based on the novel Morte no paraíso (Death in paradise) by Alberto Dines.
