BACKGROUND:
Rwenzori Mountains National Park is an incredible tourist destination. Our research has brought us to various locations in the Rwenzori many times and we are consistently amazed by the natural beauty of the mountains and wonderful and welcoming local people. In addition to being a national park, the Rwenzori are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
GUIDES AND PORTERS:
It is required to hire a guiding service to access the Rwenzori Mountains. There are two main companies that provide access to the extensive trail network and opportunities for climbing Rwenzori peaks:

PERMITS:
If you are interested in conducting research in the Rwenzori, permits are required from the following agencies:

We also obtained permits for exporting rocks from the Uganda Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines
