Earn your turns at the Skiway again this season! Uphill travel is a beautiful way to enjoy nature and get some exercise. Please take a moment and familiarize yourself with our Uphill Policy below. In general, it is important to steer clear of snowmaking and grooming operations at all times. Check conditions for full report.

The Skiway has Uphill Rentals!

This season we will be adding Uphill gear rentals as well as Uphill-specific programming. This is a great way to check out a new take on your favorite winter sport.

Uphill Travel Policy

In an effort to provide more skiing opportunities in the Upper Valley, the Dartmouth Skiway allows access to uphill travelers in certain designated areas for recreational purposes under the conditions set out below.

1) Uphill travelers must purchase an Uphill Season Pass and sign the associated Release of Liability or a Daily Uphill Ticket. Uphill New England Pass is a valid Uphill Season Pass. Uphill travelers take complete and sole responsibility for their activity at the Dartmouth Skiway, and all risks associated with such voluntary activity as further set out in the Release of Liability.

2) Uphill travelers must abide by the following requirements:

    • Uphill travelers must follow designated uphill routes, or open runs at all times during Operating Hours. For the purpose of this Policy, “Operating Hours” means the Skiway’s posted open times on any particular day during the ski season, typically 9am – 4pm.
    • Uphill travel is also allowed (i) anytime during the “shoulder” seasons, and (ii) outside of the Skiway’s Operating Hours during the ski season. For the purpose of this Policy, “Operating Hours” means the Skiway’s posted opening times on any particular day during the ski season.
    • Travel single file on the edge of the trail.
    • Uphill travelers may not stop on high traffic areas or where not visible from above.
    • Uphill travelers must observe the Skier Responsibility Code at all times.
    • Only skis, snowshoes and split boards are allowed. No sleds, tubes, saucers, snowmobiles, fat bikes or any other devices are allowed at the Skiway.
    • Uphill travelers may encounter grooming and snowmaking equipment and machines at any time, particularly outside of Operating Hours.
    • Do not access trails where snowmaking or grooming equipment is present, and avoid any area where mountain operations personnel are working.
    • Uphill travelers are encouraged to use a headlamp and wear reflective apparel/ lights when visibility is low and at night
    • Please leave pets at home. No Dogs at any time.
    • In case of an emergency outside of Operating Hours, please call 911.

3) Uphill travel is prohibited without a valid pass, outside of the hours listed above, and outside of designated routes. Uphill travel may be prohibited by Dartmouth Skiway inside of these routes or hours at any time.

4) Visitors to the Nunnemacher Cabin are encouraged to hike via the Appalachian Trail.
