The South Asian Studies Collective at Dartmouth College is a group of scholars interested in and dedicated to the study of South Asia from a variety of disciplinary and intellectual perspectives.
Members contribute to planning and programming South Asia related events and activities on campus, teach classes with content related to South Asia, and participate in conversations on South Asia at Dartmouth and in the Upper Valley.
The Collective’s main programming responsibilities include campus events, faculty seminars and the “Conversations on South Asia” series aimed at sharing recent scholarship on South Asia with a wider, public audience.
The South Asia Studies Collective collaborates with a number of on-campus units and partners, including the John Sloan Dickey Center, the Leslie Center for the Humanities, and the academic departments such as Asian Societies, Cultures, and Languages Anthropology, Religion, Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies, Art History and History.
We welcome the opportunity to expand our list of partners. If you’d like to collaborate with us on an event, don’t hesitate to reach out!
