Postdoctoral researchers
A postdoctoral position is currently available in the Perception, Attention & Memory Lab of Dr. Viola Störmer at Dartmouth College (posted 09/2023).

We are seeking highly qualified individuals with a recent or soon-to-be-acquired Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Computer Science), strong quantitative and technical skills, and interests in perceptual cognition, working memory and selective attention, in particular the ability to suppress irrelevant information. Proficiency in programming is necessary (e.g., Matlab, Python, Javascript, or R). Ideal postdoctoral scholars would have experience with psychophysical research AND either EEG, fMRI, or computational modeling techniques.

Graduate students
We are looking for qualified graduate students to start September 2024. To apply, send an application to the Graduate Program in Brain and Psychological Sciences at Dartmouth College and indicate Dr. Störmer as the advisor you are primarily interested in working with. Applications are due December 1st in order to start the following September. Before applying, we recommend emailing with Dr. Störmer to express your interest. Please include some information about your research interests, previous research experience, and your CV when doing do.

While a bachelors degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields is required and programming skills (MATLAB/Python, C/C++, etc.) and experience with behavioral and/or EEG testing are desirable, we are also open to considering exceptional candidates from wider backgrounds. The psychology department offers support that is competitive and not restricted to U.S. citizens.
