Canvas

Canvas, Dartmouth’s learning management system, plays a pivotal role in our move to rapid remote teaching. This tool provides the digital classroom space and the scaffolding for your remote course delivery resources. Some of the functionality Canvas provides for instructors and students includes:

  • Access to documents and .pdfs
  • Instructor-created pages with web resources and content
  • Links to library resources
  • Links to media resources
  • Assignments
  • Online Discussions
  • Quizzes
  • Communications tools including course-wide announcements

Many instructors at Dartmouth have some experience with the tool, but this rapid move to remote course delivery will require a both broader usage of Canvas and greater dependency on the tool. Because this tool has been and will continue to be pivotal to our ability to provide our students with a remote experience, Dartmouth provides many ways to get help.
