The Dartmouth TEA Core is part of Dartmouth Shared Resources administered by the Dartmouth Cancer Center. The Cancer Center conducts an annual budgetary review and recommends new pricing effective July 1st each year. All externally submitted samples (those not charged to a Dartmouth account) include an overhead recovery amount. External (non-Dartmouth) samples are accepted after consultation with the TEA Core Director. The Core does not generally accept samples from the public nor commercial/industry samples unless there is a clear synergy with the goals of the TEA Core or other Dartmouth researchers.

SERVICES
Trace metals in solution – single element:
INTERNAL RATE $12.45 EXTERNAL RATE $17.43
If you’re just interested in one element, then this is the service for you. Only available for solution analysis, we don’t have a comparable service for solids, in that case you will receive a suite of elements. You can also use this rate to add a single additional element to a multi-element suite of elements.
Trace metals in solution – multi-element:
INTERNAL RATE $19.69 EXTERNAL RATE $27.56
Our most popular analysis applies to waters, urines, serum and plasma and other aqueous-based samples. By default, includes element suite 1 (see below) but you can request suites 2 or 3 instead, run multiple suites for 2X or 3X the base cost or add additional single elements at an additional single element rate.
Trace metals in a solid:
INTERNAL RATE $36.80 EXTERNAL RATE $51.52
For biological and plant tissues, cells, soils, sediments we will acid digest your sample and analyze for multi-element analysis. The default element suite is #1, but you can select a different suite or bundle more than one suite at an additional multi or single-element solution rate. By default, we use an open vessel (hot plate type) digestion, but we can perform a high temperature/high pressure digestion if needed (enquire for pricing).
Toenail and hair analysis:
INTERNAL RATE $45.59 EXTERNAL RATE $63.83
Includes cleaning, washing, and drying of nails in addition to ‘trace metals in a solid’ analysis and element suite 1 by default.
Arsenic speciation:
INTERNAL RATE $54.78 EXTERNAL RATE $76.70
Quantification of the different molecular forms of arsenic found in biological and environmental samples, including arsenobetaine, dimethyl arsenic acid (DMA), monomethyl arsenic acid (MMA) and inorganic arsenic (arsenite + arsenate). Usual sample types are urines, water, and food. Analysis is by LC-ICP-MS.
Teeth analysis:
INTERNAL RATE $228.04 EXTERNAL RATE $319.07
Sectioning, polishing and analysis of deciduous teeth for epidemiological studies of early life exposure. Consult Brian or Tracy for more details and to discuss your project.
Elemental Imaging
High resolution imaging of biological thin sections using LA-ICP-TOF-MS. See our Biomedical National Elemental Imaging Resource webpage for more info.
INTERNAL RATE $39.49/HR EXTERNAL RATE $55.28/HR
