FAQ

What is Taekwondo?

Originating in Korea in the mid-1940s, Taekwondo is a martial art that emphasizes kicking techniques, rather than punching and grappling. Taekwondo has ancient roots and history, but did not become unified as one martial art, as we know it today, until the 1940s. Like many martial arts, Taekwondo participates in sparring and poomsaes, demonstrations of defined patterns of defense and attack motions.
