Research: High levels of arsenic exposure via drinking water is a serious health concern that affects millions of people around the world. Epidemiological studies suggest that high levels of arsenic ingestion positively correlates with morbidity and susceptibility to respiratory diseases. In vivo studies using mouse models have supported these epidemiological findings and further suggest that these outcomes may be linked to changes in the immune response. My current research utilizes in vivo mouse models to further elucidate how arsenic ingestion via drinking water affects the immune response to influenza A.
