About

Background

Founded in the fall of 2013 by Kendall Farnham ('14), Nicolina Mascia ('15), and Sara Heard ('15), we are a student-run club team and welcome all members of the Dartmouth community—though we are predominantly made up of undergraduate students.

We train year-round, typically with two to three practices for each discipline of the triathlon and one strength training session per week. The sprint distance is our team's primary focus, though we also compete in Olympic distance events, half Ironmans (70.3), duathlons, and relays.

Our athletes have gone on to compete in Ironman races and the ITU World Triathlon Series. Nonetheless, we value team spirit and go out of our way to welcome people of all ability levels and financial statuses.

Mission Statement

The Dartmouth Triathlon Team aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for Dartmouth students of all abilities who are interested in training for and racing in triathlons. We strive to foster a supportive and positive team spirit that celebrates all types of success. The Dartmouth Triathlon Team empowers its members to pursue athletic achievement while also providing leadership opportunities as a student-run team.

Core Values

  • Our members desire to challenge themselves and improve in all three disciplines of triathlon.
  • Our members have a commitment to and excitement about racing, regardless of ability level or background.
  • We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all team members.
  • We respect and support our teammates and coaches.
  • We celebrate one another's successes.
  • Each of our members is committed to building and bettering the Dartmouth Triathlon community, both inside and outside of scheduled practice time.
