The Westletter: Week of 9/17/17

Hi Westians,

Great to see so many of you (including our new grad student Westians) at the kickoff BBQ on Friday afternoon, and at the Exec Board meeting tonight. Looking forward to a great term.

(If you didn’t get to pick up your new House gear on Friday, we still have hats in the House Office in Fahey Hall; please stop by and see Pamela or Ted to get yours.)

Lots of exciting activities this week!

Best,
RCH

On Saturday, Sep. 23rd we will be having our first West House Sophomore Outing: A chance for the sophomores in the House to take a fun day trip, hang out together, and make new connections among House members. This year we’ll be going for a boat cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee in central New Hampshire. The trip is FREE and will leave around 9:30am and return before dinner. Space is getting limited, and priority will be given to ‘20s, but faculty and staff (including families) and students from other years are welcome to sign up in case there’s extra space. Fellows Dinner Sunday Sept. 24

On Sunday, Sep. 24th we will host our second annual West House Fellows Dinner. West House faculty and staff affiliates, students, and families are all invited to the House Professor’s residence for an evening of wonderful dinner and conversation. The dinner starts early (5pm) and we will once again have babysitters for those with kids! RSVP to Pamela.K.Duffy@dartmouth.edu.

IM Soccer

After finishing as runners-up last fall, the West House IM soccer team will once again be playing in the House league this term, on Fridays at 4:50pm. The IM competitions will all count toward an overall House Cup this year, so we’ve got extra incentives to represent our House and come out on top at the end of the year! If interested in playing, please contact our IM Captain, Resident Fellow Cory Cline at Cory.T.Cline.TH@dartmouth.edu. IM registration is FREE for members of House teams. If we’re limited in space, spots on the team will be first come first served, so let Cory know right away.

Free HOP tickets

West House has available free tickets for House members to attend world-class performances at the Hopkins Center each term. A full list of shows for Spring term is available here. If you’d like tickets, please contact Pamela at Pamela.K.Duffy@dartmouth.edu.
