The Dartmouth Ski Team’s annual Moosilauke Time Trial will be held on Saturday, October 19th. Starting at the Ravine Lodge, both the cross country and alpine teams will travel 3.2 miles and 2250 feet up the Gorge Brook Trail. Friends and alumni are welcome to join in too. Start time is 10am.
Two years ago, the race was canceled due to a freakish late October snowstorm that dumped 6 inches in downtown Hanover. Last year, a cold rain was falling at the bottom, the middle section of the trail was frozen mud, and the top was covered in ice – making conditions unforgiving the whole way up. This year, the weather forecast looks promising and the trail should be in good shape after a dry fall. Rumor even has it that Kris Freeman will be back to take aim at his 2010 course record of 35:16. Check out the historical record for all past results. Hope to see you there!
