NH Life Sciences Hosts Inaugural “Live Free Life Science” Event With Industry and Political Leaders From Across the State
Event Showcases the Strength and Diversity of the Industry to the Region and Highlights Life Sciences Opportunity at Tuscan Village
Salem, NH — Today, NH Life Sciences (NHLS), the statewide organization focused on advancing New Hampshire’s multi-billion-dollar life sciences industry, held its inaugural “Live Free Life Science” event featuring medical innovation and technology leaders from across the state, as well as numerous elected officials including Governor Chris Sununu, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, and Congressman Chris Pappas.
With the support of its founding members (Lonza Portsmouth, Novocure, Novo Nordisk, MilliporeSigma, and Timberline Construction) and membership from life sciences companies of all sizes across the state—such as Foxx Life Sciences, Sequence Biotech, Pirouette Medical and Agora Biotech—NHLS has quickly established itself as the Granite State’s life sciences association.
NHLS has also welcomed membership from leading academic institutions in the state including University of New Hampshire, The Institute for Biomolecular Targeting at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, and the Community College System of New Hampshire.
“The strength of New Hampshire’s life sciences industry was on full display at our Live Free Life Science event, and we are thrilled by the engagement from industry and elected leaders from across the state,” said Andrea Hechavarria, President & CEO of NHLS. “There has been incredible momentum generated over our first year in operation, creating a springboard for our work to help grow the Granite State’s cutting-edge life sciences companies.”
“New Hampshire needed this and we are very excited to be part of NH Life Sciences,” said Tom Taylor, Founder and CEO of Foxx Life Sciences. “NHLS allows us to network, educate our team, shape policies that empower the life sciences sector to grow, and create a lasting positive impact on our customers in the life science market.”
Foxx Life Sciences is headquartered in Londonderry, NH with five manufacturing plants and over 200 employees supporting medical, pharma and biotech companies all over the world.
The event was held at the Innovation District at Tuscan Village, a future home for life sciences companies looking to grow and expand in NH. The Innovation District has been developed as a hub for startups, established businesses, and entrepreneurs, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and proximity to lifestyle amenities such as restaurants, shops, and outdoor spaces.
“Start-ups and small businesses are the heart of the life sciences industry in New Hampshire, and the Innovation District at Tuscan Village will provide the state-of-the art infrastructure and the lively ecosystem that these companies need to grow and thrive,” added Hechavarria.
The event was proudly supported by fifteen sponsors, including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Resonetics, Decco, Mintz, Alexander Technology Group, The Institute for Biomolecular Targeting at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, and Tuscan Village.
