All classroom types support the same core capabilities and design goals.

Core Capabilities

Presentation
Present from the classroom computer or presenter-provided laptop or wirelessly from any participant's laptop or mobile device.

Class Capture
Schedule recordings of the class for later review in Canvas.

Streaming
Stream the class meeting or event in real time for remote viewers.

Conferencing
Bring an offsite guest into the class or event via Zoom conferencing.

Seminar

Up to 26 Seats

  • Supports roundtable discussion for up to 26 participants
  • Small, flat-floor room with writing surface on at least one wall
  • Mobile table arrays and chairs in larger versions

Standard

20-80 Seats

  • Supports lecture, full class discussion, and (non tech-assisted) work in groups
  • Easily reconfigurable, flat-floor classroom for 20-80 participants
  • Mobile tablet-arm chairs or 2-person tables and chairs
  • Front and perimeter markerboards
  • Learn More

Group Learning

35-80 Seats

  • Supports lecture, full class discussion, and tech enhanced group activity
  • Dedicated team displays and marker surface
  • Reconfigurable, flat-floor classroom for 35-80 participants
  • Mobile tablet-arm chairs or 2-person tables and chairs

Demonstration

20-80 Seats

  • Supports lecture  and image magnified/projected physical demonstration
  • Mobile tablet-arm chairs or 2-person tables and chairs
  • Front and perimeter markerboards
  • Additional technology:  demonstration cameras

Lecture Hall

80-300 Fixed-Seats

  • Typically 80-300 fixed seats on tiers.  
  • Supports lecture, some work in pairs
  • Frequent after-hours use for campus events
  • Enhanced tech services: designed for user managed hybrid events with capacity for staffed events
  • Additional features:  production quality lighting and finishes to present Dartmouth to an external audience
