Emergency Medical Technician Courses:
Dartmouth EMS sponsors two Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses each academic year. One is a condensed EMT course occurring during winterim (late November to mid-December). The second EMT course is during the spring term.
Registration is open to anyone, including students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The D-EMS directors are working closely with Dartmouth College and our EMS school partners to offer courses.
Winterim Accelerated EMT Course:
Course #1: Accelerated EMT Course
Taught by: Jim McCarragher of Emergency Management and Training Associates
Location: Dartmouth College campus
Dates: December 1st 2025 to December 17th 2025 (Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm)
For the Winterim 2025 course, we are working with Jim McCarragher of Emergency Management and Training Associates LLC. The course will run from December 1st, 2025, to December 17th, 2025, on Dartmouth Campus. The cost is $1800. There is a $200 discount if full tuition is paid by November 17th, 2025. Email Jim at EMTA.llc@gmail.com to be put on the list. Once you have emailed Jim, you will be contacted if there is room at which time a non-refundable deposit of $500 is expected, with full tuition to be paid at a later date.

The basic information about the second course is as follows.
Course #2: Hybrid EMT Course
Taught by: Jim McCarragher of Emergency Management and Training Associates
Location: Dartmouth College campus
Dates: April 12th 2025 to May 24th 2025 (Saturdays 10am-5:30pm)
For the Spring 2025 course, we are working with Jim McCarragher of Emergency Management and Training Associates LLC. The primary course work will be AAOS online. In person-class time will focus on practicing EMS skills. In total, the EMT class will be about 180 hours. This includes in class skills and scenarios for 40-60 hours, online assignments for 60+ hours, clinical observation of 10 hours and online FEMA certifications for 10 hours. The online portions must be completed within a year. The cost is $1800, but a $200 discount is available for deposits received before March 24th, 2025. A nonrefundable deposit of $500 to EMTA.LLC via check, money order or a letter from the agency responsible for reimbursement will complete your application to EMTA.LLC @ 82 Sandalwood Drive, Wilbraham, MA, 01095. The required AAOS textbook 12th edition with Premier online resources is included in the $1,800 tuition (a $400 value).
