Award winning green infrastructure proposal that works with nature to restore the natural drainage along the original Goose Creek and Washington City Canal and would move the 100 year floodplain away from the historic buildings along the National Mall. This is a low cost, naturalizing, historically-based approach would work with the natural water table to re-create the water feature L’Enfant designed and save downtown Washington DC from impending catastrophic flooding while providing biodiversity and new recreational opportunities.
