Mindfulness Around Campus

From visiting the Hood Museum to taking refuge in nature, there are lots of ways to strengthen your capacity for mindfulness at Dartmouth beyond a meditation class.

Special mindfulness visit

Attend a special event with senior monastic teachers in the Plum Village tradition of scholar, poet, peace activist, and Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. The week of April 22-28, 2024 the monastics will share strategies for applying mindfulness to challenges in everyday life through a series of  classroom visits, meditation practice, lectures, and retreats.

-Review and register for the events here

-Check out the on-going resource guide related to the visit

Listen, look, and cultivate deeper mindfulness now with a 5-minute guided meditation on art.

Mindfulness in Nature

Dartmouth College is rich with awe-inspiring ways to connect with our surrounding environment in more ways than one. From taking a mindful stroll in Pine Park to stargazing from any number of spots around campus, being in the natural world has a way of helping us connect to our innate ability to be mindful.

Sign up for a hike, trip, or other nature-based outing with the Dartmouth Outing Club and Outdoor Programs Office.

Can't make it outside? Even looking at a photo or image of nature can provide you similar well being benefits as being physically immersed in nature. Try our our nature-based video meditation to see for yourself!
Put in earbuds and try out a 6-minute walking meditation for those times you are making your way across campus and looking to get a little active mindfulness in your day.

Mindfulness at Dartmouth Health

The Dartmouth Health Office of Employee Wellbeing holds weekly mindfulness sessions that are open to all Dartmouth Health physicians, staff, volunteers and retirees. Many of these events are also open to employee family members.
