About Us

The Sadie Alexander Association was founded in January 2021 by minority Economics students who were inspired by their own experiences to engender change in the Economics Department at Dartmouth. They wanted to help make economics a more inclusive field for all those from underrepresented backgrounds. Though all came from different backgrounds and interests, all shared the similar experience of feeling isolated and unsupported in Economics courses. All knew the experience of being the only minority student in a particular class and being relatively unprepared for the course material and career search.

With the support of the faculty in the Economics Department, these students formed the Sadie Alexander Association, with the hopes of engendering a community amongst underrepresented students in economics and inspiring change in the Department as a whole.
