Overview
The Pathway to Doctorate, or DocPath, Health Equity Fellowship Program aims to build the skills of the fellow in preparation for application to an advanced graduate program. It is open to all TDI MPH graduates who represent an underserved community in medicine, as defined by the AAMC, or a community whose needs are underserved by the US healthcare system, as defined by HHS.
The DocPath program brings together TDI’s research and education programs to create a bridge or pathway from a Master’s to a more advanced degree.
Each year, one fellow is selected for a mentored research experience with an identified TDI or Geisel faculty member who has active health research projects. Over the course of the year, the fellow will develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP), gain experience in developing research questions and relevant research methods, participate in and lead lab meetings, and prepare a personal/research statement for doctoral or similar advanced graduate programs.
The DocPath fellowship typically starts each July. A competitive annual stipend with health insurance coverage is provided.
