Katerina Zorina-Lichtenwalter

Postdoc, University of Colorado at Boulder
Katerina joined CANlab in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak in early 2020 after doing her PhD in neuroscience with Luda Diatchenko at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Her thesis was on the effects of common genetic variants on pain conditions and sensitivity to pain. Present interests include shared genetic risk factors in pain and mood disorders and genetics of the placebo response. Her path to neuroscience was through studies in musicology and French language and literature. She spent her childhood in Ukraine, and her extracurricular interests include boardgames with her daughter and husband, speaking other languages, rock climbing, skiing, cycling, yoga, musicmaking, and living in different countries, all of which she does with the proficiency of a solid beginner-amateur.
