Visiting Scholar, Dartmouth College
Isabel is a PhD student at Prof. Dr. Paul Pauli’s lab at the University of Würzburg (Germany) and a visiting scholar in the CANlab since May 2022. In her PhD project, she investigates the influence of social support on pain perception in virtual reality. She studied psychology with a focus on clinical psychology at the University of Würzburg (Germany) and Salamanca (Spain). During her studies, she worked in a project which investigated underlying mechanisms in anxiety disorders with virtual reality and gained clinical experience at the Outpatient Center for Psychotherapy of Würzburg. Isabel is interested in social influences on pain, psychophysiological methods, and neural mechanisms in the context of pain modulation. She is also excited to explore the potential of virtual reality for the treatment of clinical disorders and for topics related to open science.
