Bethany is interested in the intersection between social and affective cognition, particularly in relation to illness development and recovery. She completed her BA at Kenyon College, where she researched attention and social approach in autism. Before joining the CANlab in 2020, Bethany studied social perception in eating disorders at UT Southwestern Medical Center. While working in the CANlab, she supported multiple grant projects to better understand how beliefs and expectations shape neural responses to aversive stimuli.
