Byeol joined the CANlab for her Ph.D. in the fall of 2021 with a Fulbright graduate student award. Byeol is interested in building computational modeling of subjective experience, including self-related thought, emotion, and mind wandering. Also interested in the study of brain-body interaction and neurobiological mechanisms of mental and physical health. She majored in astronomy and psychology at Yonsei University, and received a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Sungkyunkwan University under Wani Woo’s supervision in Korea.
