Zhaoxing Wei joined CANlab in the fall of 2024. She received her doctoral training at the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience). Her work focused on optimizing cortico-spinal fMRI data acquisition and analysis techniques to explore the neural mechanisms underlying peripheral neuromodulation-based pain relief. She is also interested in the lateralization and specificity of pain representation. At CANlab, her research focuses on investigating the neural mechanisms of placebo effects influenced by social factors.
