Paper on Candida response to low pH

Figure 4Jeffrey Hollomon was first author on a paper with Nora Grahl, Sven Willger and Katja Koeppen (Stanton Lab) in mSphere describing the global role of cyclic AMP signaling in pH-dependent responses in Candida albicans. This work provides important insight into how Candida responds to the acidic environments found in single species biofilms, in interactions with the host, and in mixed species communities.

Congratulations to Jack!

jack-picCongratulations to Dr. Jack Hammond, Ph.D. for successfully defending his thesis entitled “Characterization of the Pseudomonas aerguinosa response to hypoxia in biofilmss and infections, as mediated by the oxygen responsive transcription factor, Anr”!  Lars Dietrich, Columbia University, was the outside examiner and the day was full of excellent scientific discussions!
