We’ve known each other since our freshman year, we’ve run in the same circles, and we like similar things. We always run into each other, I see you everywhere. It’s actually pretty bizarre that we’ve known each other all this time, yet we’ve never even talked. You know what? I think we would make great– No, no! I’m not insinuating that we should be friends, or even that we hang out. That would be crazy. What I’m really trying to say is, we would be really good together. In a band. We would make great bandmates. We should start a band.
Last week this guy John came over to my house. I didn’t invite him over because I like him as a friend, and I definitely didn’t invite him over because I like him as more than a friend. Remember, John is nothing more than a bandmate to me. We were just looking for a place to hold our practices. We were gonna test out the reverb and sound proofing in my dorm room with a jam sesh, but John didn’t bring his guitar. He never does.
Remember when you ran into me and that guy at Boloco the other day? That was Cooper. We’re actually in a band together. Well it’s just me and him. I feel like it would be so weird if Cooper and I ever hung out one on one outside of our routine band stuff. Oh, our dinner at Boloco? Oh no we weren’t just hanging out. That meal was a pre-show ritual. We haven’t had a show yet but we totally will sometime in the future. Pre really just means comes before so if you think about it isn’t life a pre show ritual in itself? Think about that for a second. Also we haven’t totally decided on a band name yet, or held any specific practices but that’s all coming soon. I have a few names in mind but everytime I throw one out Cooper freezes, I guess he doesn’t like to put labels on things.
I’m actually in a couple bands with different guys here. You know Cooper? Him and I have a band. Jackson, Tyler, and I have a band. And then sometimes Tyler and I have our own band that we don’t invite Jackson to. Jackson and I tried to jam just the two of us, but there was no chemistry. No musical chemistry. I mean.
Not to get too stuck on this, but I do have to say, I’d still really like to get a label on what Cooper and I have. A record label, I mean.
