The Polar Regions Robotics lab at Dartmouth College’s Thayer School of Engineering is dedicated to researching how climate change is affecting the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica using state of the art rovers designed for the extreme conditions of the ends of the earth. The lab is led by Dr. Laura Ray and Dr. Mary Albert, professors at Dartmouth College, who have received numerous grants to perform science in these remote regions. Current students in the lab are PhD candidates Joshua Elliott and Austin Lines, working on designing the next generation of snow and ice rovers while still carrying out data collection field seasons in Greenland and Antarctica with Yeti and Cool.

Recent Field Seasons:

Greenland 2017 – Summit Station – June 23rd to July 27th, 2017

Antarctica 2017 – McMurdo Shear Zone – October 9th to November 10th, 2017
