Postdoctoral researchers
We are looking for a postdoc! 

The specific research directions would be developed together with the postdoctoral scientist, but broad topics include:cross-modal attention and selection history, feature-based attention, and working memory. Methods include psychophysics, large-scale online data collection, computational techniques, eye tracking and EEG and/or fMRI.

Candidates should have  a recent or soon-to-be-acquired Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Computer Science), strong quantitative and technical skills, and an interest in perceptual cognition. Proficiency in programming and data analysis is necessary (e.g., Matlab, Python, Javascript, R). Ideal postdoctoral scholars would have experience with psychophysical research AND either EEG or fMRI.

Graduate students
We are looking for qualified graduate students to start September 2026. To apply, send an application to the Graduate Program in Brain and Psychological Sciences at Dartmouth College and indicate Dr. Störmer as the advisor you are primarily interested in working with. Applications are due December 1st in order to start the following September. Before applying, we recommend emailing with Dr. Störmer to express your interest. Please include some information about your research interests, previous research experience, and your CV when doing do.

While a bachelors degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields is required and programming skills (MATLAB/Python, C/C++, etc.) and experience with behavioral and/or EEG testing are desirable, we are also open to considering exceptional candidates from wider backgrounds. The psychology department offers support that is competitive and not restricted to U.S. citizens.

We are always looking for highly motivated undergraduate research assistants with strong interest in cognitive neuroscience, perception, attention, memory, and multisensory integration.
