East Wheelok House Mixer to Welcome all ’24s

You are all invited to the mixer for incoming East Wheelock students this Saturday (Sep 12) at 5pm. Even though it’s primarily for welcome the first-year students, everyone is invited to join and say hi to the ’24s via zoom at http://dartgo.org/brace.

After some introductions, we’ll play an East Wheelock-based kahoot game (designed by Breanna Boland ’23) and then a scavenger hunt on a 2D version of East Wheelock (designed by Olivia Goodwin ’21, you can join at http://dartgo.org/gather  around 6pm on Saturday).

Call for EW Pet Photos

One unintended benefit of not being on campus is that we get more time with our pets!  Wanna brag on your pets?  Let’s share some of the cuteness of our non-people family!  We’re looking to feature pictures the Pets of East Wheelock in our weekly newsletters.

Send pictures of your pets to East.Wheelock.House@dartmouth.edu, and tell us a little something about them (and yourself if you’d like!) to be featured in the newsletter.

Lorrie Bosse’s Cats – Abigail & Catalina

Meet Abigail (left) and Catalina (right)!  These are the cats who are enjoying Lorrie Bosse’s extra time at home.  Abigail is a super chill 5 year old Maine Coon cat, who is calm and affectionate.  Catalina is a 7 month old short haired mix who is timid, energetic, and loves to climb and pounce on anything that moves.

Kahoot Trivia Night

Do you like trivia? Then come test your knowledge with your fellow East Wheelock members in a Kahoot game! All you need is access to the internet to play this fast-paced, multiple-choice game online. Play for a chance to win an Amazon gift card!

Please Note: For the best experience, please join the Zoom meeting with your laptop/computer and have your phone in-hand to answer the questions.

See your email for links to join.

Virtual Talent Show

We may be scattered but that doesn’t mean we can’t socialize. East Wheelock house invites you to a virtual talent show*. Share a craft you made. Share a piece you wrote. Share music on an instrument. Show us a short dance you choreographed. Got a unique body trick (i.e. double jointed, extreme balance)? Any talent you can think of!

*Can’t make it to a zoom call? Bad video connection? No problem – The house has tentative plans to use a shared Google Drive as an upload center to view the talents.

East Wheelock Zoom

Join us for a zoom meeting to connect with other East Wheelock students and with Sergi, Josiah and Lorrie, check how everyone is doing, and plan how to stay in touch and support each other during these challenging times. Everyone is invited to participate. We may try to make this a weekly gathering if students are interested.

We will re-send the zoom link to house affiliates’ emails prior to the zoom meeting.
