Co-sponsorship Policy

East Wheelock typically does not co-sponsor other campus events unless there is some direct benefit specific to East Wheelock members. We receive many requests every week from potential campus partners, and only occasionally are we able to make them work out. For example, East Wheelock House contributed $200 to TEDx at Dartmouth in exchange for a reserved a block of tickets for East Wheelock students and hosting a dinner at 13 East Wheelock St with four of the TEDx speakers after the event.

If you think your proposed event falls within our co-sponsorship parameters, you are welcome to attend one of the weekly East Wheelock House Council meetings. Fall 2022 meetings are on Thursdays at 12:15 PM in Brace Commons. If you email East.Wheelock.House@dartmouth.edu beforehand, we will make sure to schedule you in the agenda. At the meeting you can pitch your idea to the student leaders, who will then discuss if East Wheelock House is able co-sponsor the event and how East Wheelock will be involved. If you have a conflict and cannot come to the meeting, you can send a representative, or email us your proposal for discussion at the meeting (although having someone in person to explain it and answer questions is usually most effective).

Reserving Brace Commons

Please start by reading the Residential Space Reservation Policy here: https://students.dartmouth.edu/residential-life/policy/residential-space-reservation-policy

Please also familiarize yourself with the Student Events and Activities Guidelines for 2020

https://students.dartmouth.edu/student-life/student-organizations/student-eventsactivities-policy/student-event-and-activities-guidelines-2020

If your event complies with the policy, please come to one of our House Council meetings described above to request the use of the space, or email East.Wheelock.House@dartmouth.edu. A reservation through EMS without previous approval from the House Council to host the event in Brace Commons will most likely be denied.

Want to design East Wheelock swag?

You can download the EW logo below to use in your designs. Remember that East Wheelock swag cannot include colors from other houses (black, red, purple and blue), but all other colors are acceptable, including green, gray, white, yellow, etc. If you have an item in mind and/or a design that you would like to propose, come to a meeting to show it to the House Council members. Depending on interest and on budget, we may end up order the item for East Wheelock members. If you want another version of the logo (for example in png format, or with text around it) please email East.Wheelock.House@dartmouth.edu.
