Fall 2025 Applications are Up

Students — apply to be a Fall 2025 Learning Fellow! Fall applications are due by Sunday August 17. If you miss the due date, you can still apply but on-time applicants will be prioritized in hiring. Recruitment emails will go out to eligible students in past courses in August, however you are still welcome to apply if you did not receive a recruitment email and have taken an eligible course or have related experience.

Hiring LF Mentors

We are looking for Learning Fellows Mentors for the Academic Year 2025-2026. Candidates should be committed to supporting active learning in the classroom, the goals of the LF program, and peer support and leadership. They should also have already served as an LF at least 2 terms. LF Mentors support pedagogy series, meet one-on-one with new LFs for check-ins, help with recruiting events, and support the program in other ways. We generally hire 1-3 mentors per term and they serve repeated terms if possible. Mentors work 1-4 hours a week (total, or in addition to serving as an LF) and are paid at the same rate as regular LFs. If you are interested in being considered or want to nominate somone, please fill out the following interest form.

Learning Fellows, often called “Learning Assistants” at other institutions, all participate in a three-part model encompassing pedagogy training, weekly instructional team huddles, and in-class active-learning support. 2024-2025 Learning Fellows Program Kicks Off!

We will be kicking off the 2024-2025 Learning Fellows Program with by welcoming our new and returning Learning Fellows and faculty to Orientation on September 16th from 5:30-7:00 in DCAL, Baker 102. We are looking forward to coming together to support active learning in Biology, Comparative Literature, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, and Latin this Fall term! New Directions for the Learning Fellows Program

10/3/2023, DCAL, 102 Baker Library, 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Join the Learning Fellows Program for hors d’oeuvres and discussion as we celebrate the accomplishments of our last eight years and share our new directions! Beginning 24W, we will expand to work with more courses, dive deeper into field-specific teaching practices, and increase face time for faculty and fellows. These changes are based on the results of a comprehensive external analysis conducted in 2019-2021 as well as feedback from our faculty, students, past learning fellows, and course facilitators. Come find out how the program is changing and how it can work for you, whether you have been involved in the past or are thinking about taking part in the future.
