As Dartmouth looks to be more sustainable, we need to think carefully about how space is used and where it’s possible, be very efficient with our square footage. The most affordable new space is the building that doesn’t need to be constructed – just reconfigured to be more sustainable. In a recent article by Gensler, the question was posed What would you rather have?
- A big, private corner office with a desktop PC and landline phone, OR
- A small, open workspace but with a laptop computer and mobile phone and the ability to work wherever you want?
My answer is (B), especially with the amazing spaces around Dartmouth: Sanborn, Rauner, Baker-Berry, the Green, Fairchild Tower, Dirt Cowboy, etc. What do you think?
