Workshop Summary:
This two-day workshop is intended for anyone new to genomic and bioinformatic applications. Here we will introduce you to the command-line environment, BASH (Bourne-Again Shell), and general big-data analysis. Throughout the process we provide a guided bioinformatic tutorial working with whole-genome sequencing data. This workshop will briefly walk through the generation of next-generation sequencing data, followed by in-depth hands-on analysis including evaluation of data quality, assembly of bacterial genomes, genome annotation/assessment, visualizations, and submission of data to public repositories.
See the workshop flyer for more information.
