The National Institutes of Health (NIH) implemented its Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMS) in January 2023 to promote the management and sharing of scientific data generated from NIH-funded or conducted research.

This workshop will introduce the DMS policy, including required elements of the plan and institutional resources. This will include changes to the budgeting process that took effect October 5th, 2023. We will also explore the DMPTool, an online application that helps researchers create data management plans by providing funder and institutional guidance.

Representatives from the Office of Sponsored Projects and the Libraries will be available to answer your questions.

This session is designed for users who are just getting started and want to learn more about the NIH mandate.
