This is the second workshop in the bulk RNA-seq data analysis series, and will provide an introduction to differential expression (DE) analysis.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Develop a working understanding of fundamental bioinformatics and statistical concepts for a typical bulk RNA-seq DE analysis
- Learn how to leverage the R/Bioconductor framework to perform DE analysis
- Learn how to use unsupervised data analysis methods (e.g. principal components analysis) to explore RNA-seq datasets
- Perform a complete DE analysis on a real RNA-seq dataset
Registration Limit: 40
Workshop will not run with fewer than 25 participants
The majority of analyses in this workshop will be conducted using R/RStudio. Although we will include an introduction to the R programming, participants are strongly advised to develop basic proficiency with R before attending the workshop. We are providing a list of resources that can be used to develop these skills in the months prior to the workshop, or assess if this workshop is appropriate for your skill level. If you do not feel comfortable with the material in the resources provided we do offer a separate workshop called Fundamentals of Bioinformatics that will introduce you to R.
