Dartmouth Boy Loves Girlfriend He Does Not Know Anything About

In a recent interview, when asked about his girlfriend’s study habits, Brody Sanderson ’24 instead explained his love for his girlfriend, Eliza McManthers ’24, citing her “genius, kindness, and beauty.”

“She’s so nice and pretty. She is an angel, and she is an absolute genius. I think she’s the love of my life.”

When asked about Eliza’s unique personality traits, Brody reiterated, “She’s just such a sweetheart, and she’s smart. Really smart. I mean, she’s pre-med.”

When asked to describe her boyfriend of five weeks, Eliza stated, “Oh, well, he’s very charismatic. I remember last fall when he just, completely held the attention of about half of our floor in the common room with stories about his cat, Pickles. He was so funny. Boyish, I guess? Endearing.” She paused for a moment. “He’s also really focused, and his fingers just fly across the keyboard whenever he’s working on his CS labs, like a hacker in training, or something. He’s really kind and sweet, of course, but that should be the bare minimum, right? He seems like a good friend, too, but he hasn’t been in as much contact with his previous friend group since… I guess since we started dating… I hope he makes more time to see them.”

Brody paused, “Friends? Oh, well, I have Eliza, now. She really listens to me.”

Eliza also reminisced about meeting Brody’s older sister, Lily, “I only met her once while she Facetimed Brody, but she seems so nice, and her eyebrows were gorgeous! She told me about how when they were little, Brody ate dirt, and he would give her cups to eat, too! Haha, can you believe it? She would pretend to eat it, of course, just for him,” Eliza grew quiet for a second, “She’s such a good sister. I wish my older sister and I had a relationship like that.”

“Family? Uhh, she has parents, I think,” Brody said when asked about Eliza’s family.

Eliza revealed her current feelings for Brody, “I mean, I like him, but we’ve only been friends for three months, and we’ve only been dating for a little over five weeks, now. We barely know each other, really. I am excited to see where this goes, though.”

At press time, Brody declared, “I know her better than I know myself.”
