Entrepreneurial Resources at Dartmouth

On Monday, February 17, Jamie Coughlin, director of the Dartmouth New Venture Incubator Program, introduced to WIB members the resources for entrepreneurship and startup development on campus. Mr. Coughlin gave a comprehensive overview of the structure and leadership of the program. He pointed out the newly constructed innovation center on campus, which will be available for students starting this spring. He invited WIB members to use the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network to share ideas and get in touch with fellow alumni in the business world. He also shared his own experience as a startup owner while studying at Princeton University as an undergraduate student.

As a startup co-founder myself, I found Mr. Coughlin’s presentation to be very helpful and informative. I have been working on a startup online educational consulting company, Cyrus Consulting (http://www.cyrusconsulting.org), with my friends from boarding schools and colleges for a year. We have produced several successful cases for students in the United States and China, while making considerable returns for our board members and attractive pays to our employees. Next year, we are looking forward to developing a more integrated online interaction system. I can imagine cooperating with the innovation center and accelerating the development of our startup with their helpful guidance.

Mr. Coughlin’s presentation served as a thorough introduction to the campus resources on innovation and entrepreneurial development. I would highly encourage anyone with entrepreneurial interest to visit the center.
