The Hanover Conservancy recently organized a tour of the Trescott Company lands with foresters John O’Brien and Jeffrey Smith. The tour was extraordinary – an amazing Saturday afternoon.  The Conservancy prepared a short slide show of scenes which may be viewed here.

Benefits of Walkable Neighborhoods (Reuters)

New Yorkers working downtown are benefiting from daily physical activity

Interesting article on Reuters about the connection of walkable neighborhoods to lower diabetes risk.

(Reuters Health) – People living in communities that lend themselves to walking had a significantly lower risk of developing diabetes than those living in the least walkable neighborhoods in a large new study from Canada.

Ethan Burke, quoted in the article lives in Hanover, and works at Dartmouth.
