Greetings introspective and wise blog reader! If you’re reading this blog post, then you must be here to learn about how to craft a Self-Reflection List. These lists are great because they help you:
-
Find Direction
-
Figure Out What’s Important
-
Find Peace of Mind
Without much further ado, let’s get to it!
Step 1: Take a piece of paper and draw a vertical line down the middle.
Step 2: On the left side, write down everything you’re thankful for/went well during the year. For example, you could say: “I’m grateful that I discovered rock climbing this past fall term.”
Step 3: On the right side, write down everything you struggled with/found challenging. For example, you could say: “Computer science was pretty tough last term, I’d like to get better at programming.”
Step 4: After you’ve filled out your page, take a second to scan the entire page. Use a highlighter to highlight any lines that you want to extend/work on in 2018. For example, on my list, I’m highlighting computer science and rock climbing.
Step 5: This is optional, but you can transfer (and rephrase) your highlighted text to a single list of goals. This helps to organize your thoughts and identify your important goals.
