Summary: The life and adventures of a gang of abandoned street kids known as “Capitães da Areia” (Captains of the Sands), in Salvador, Bahia, during the 1950s.
I enjoyed this film and would watch it again in the future. It showed that even though these were very young kids, they were involved in a lot of dangerous activities. It demonstrated a sad aspect that is present in many under privileged societies. The children were orphans and often turned to stealing and other activities to make money.

A sad, but enjoyable movie. It is one of the more popular Brazilian movies. It brings to light the hardships orphans experience, but it is enlightening because the kids end up successful.
