Summary: On Oct. 5, 1997 the team of film-makers arrived in the favela section of Rio de Janeiro known as Gávea. They film the favela on the second day of Pope John Paul II’s visit. Two months later they return to Gávea to talk with the inhabitants about their religious views, faith, and practices. The film wraps up on the 24th of December and a discovery of local Christmas celebrations and customs.
