Summary: Five people in the outskirts of Recife (the capital of Pernambuco) are connected by love, betrayal, work, and desire. The butcher’s wife is having an affair with another woman, the morbid necrophile is in love with the petulant barmaid, and the hopeful gay cook is in love with the butcher. The film tackles the issues of adultery, necrophilia, depression, and homosexuality and is set in one of the poorest regions of Brazil.
